THE SHPIEL
CHUTZPAH à GO-GO tells the story of four singing, dancing actors, from the fictional Jewish town of Bubkes, North Dakota (Pop. 107).
These tummlers are on the road with a musical tribute to their unique prairie Jewish heritage and some of the comic contributions that Yiddish has made to the English language.
They have been mistakenly booked into a church auditorium and are using the church's musicians as their own live Klezmer band.
Combining song, dance, satire and shtick, these multi-talented performers present an irreverent portrait of their town. In its own irrepressible way, CHUTZPAH à GO-GO celebrates the ongoing contribution of Yiddishkite to North American culture.
It's as familiar as Bubbe's chicken soup and matzoh balls...and it will stay with you as long!
